MY STORY

I have been operating under the Illinois Cottage Food Operations Law, which allows me to bake items within my home and sell my goods at farmers markets.

Hi everyone! My name is Aimee. My love affair with cooking and baking dates back to my single digit days. However, my loveable world of food was flipped upside down in 2015 when I mysteriously developed food sensitivities as an adult. It truly opened my eyes to the quality of food and products in our daily lives. Having to remove a lot of my normal foods to repair my leaky gut was a bit traumatic at first. I had to learn a new way of eating and invest a lot of time in educating myself on how to nourish my body. Ever since then, I’ve committed to an extremely clean lifestyle and diet.

Once my children began to show signs of food sensitivities, I again re-taught myself on even more ways to cook and bake. I brainstormed recipes and food options that looked like “normal” foods but were without the added processed junk. I never want my kids to feel like they’re missing out of something even as simple as a chocolate chip cookie.

All of my offerings are made with Organic ingredients and are Gluten-Free, Dairy-Free/ or Optional, Egg-Free, Soy-Free, Corn-Free, Grain-Free, Vegan, and sometimes Nut-Free. There are no “secret” ingredients, no crappy substitutions, only the highest quality ingredients available.

Just as the name states, Bun in the Oven is my newest child. Nurturing this business and putting the necessary TLC is exactly what a Mother does to her little one. I plan on putting just as much love into my treats as I would for my own family and I look forward to spreading the love to yours too. 🧡
